Books I'm Currently Loving~

Sad to say, I don't like reading.  Sitting relatively still, in a quiet place, while your eyes go back and forth again and again is not my choice of free-time.  I'd rather do more "activity" type of things, or just watch a movie.  haha
But there are two books that I am loving right now:

If you haven't read "P.S. I Love You," do. it. now.  (Warning- there is strong language.)
The plot is amazing, and I'm reading it a second time through.  It makes me tear up several times. I really want to see the movie.  Cecelia Ahern is such a splendid author and I want to read more of her stuff.

I've just started reading "What Happy People Know" and it's actually quite fascinating.  It was a book my family already owned, so I thought I'd read a little bit of it- see if there's anything else I need to know to amp up my happiness in life, so it's an interesting book.

Haul from Kmart

I got my first denim top and a cool designed collared button-down top (to wear with a navy cardigan)
I also got 3 Rimmel London Lipsticks (FAVS), L'Oreal Blush, and L'Oreal Concealor
Even Kmart has some goodies worth having.  Random and spontaneous, I'm happy with my findings!

Perfume Collection

I use a basket to hold my main perfumes together, and because tomorrow is Easter, I thought it'd be a cute idea to share this storage idea. :)
Get a basket of your choice and some colored lace of all widths and designs.  Decide what you want to do (tie a bow, wrap around the handle, wrap around the base) and hot glue your lace strips onto the basket.  Let it dry and voila!!  You can use this basket for anything: (snacks, perfumes, lotions, jewelry, nail polish, etc...)
Enjoy!  Have a wonderful Easter!

Summer 2012- Planning & Prepping & Goals OH MY!

For starters, last summer I only went swimming once.  How lame is that??
My biggest insecurity is my skin.  I'm very pale, & acne-prone, and that's never a blessing.  So during Spring/Summer, I tend to cover up and not do Summer-Fun activities.
(I don't tan-I BURN)
So- here are my goals for this season (based around the reason it's this season)
  • This summer, I'm going to try to get out of my hardcore comfort zone and go swimming, play volleyball, go long-boarding, wear shorts, and short-sleeved shirts.  (Yes, this can be a goal)
Also, is there such a thing as waterproof foundation/concealor??
  • I have a YouTube account and need to start filling it up with music-singing videos.  I have a whole notebook filled out with 200+ ideas.  I need to get my studio lights and get a move on.
  • I need to find a job that's conveniently close to my home and start savin' up!
  • Who doesn't wanna hang out with friends more constantly during vacation??  I wanna do photoshoots, spontaneous (mini) roadtrips, pool parties, mock music videos, making cute foods and decorations etc...  I got some stuff to do yoh!

Seventeen Magazine April 2012

Last week I was at the store and while I was waiting in line,
I saw that JENNIFER LAWRENCE from The Hunger Games was on the Seventeen Magazine cover!!
I got uber excited and decided to buy it.

Her article, photoshoot, and interview were great!  Anyone who loved Hunger Games and loved Jennifer's performance should definitely get this month's Seventeen magazine.  (Not to mention the rest of the magazine is adorable and Spring-prep-friendly!)

MY Trends

There are trends out there that I choose not to follow because of my personal opinion about them.
The hot pink lip look?  I don't like.  For my style and personality, I feel most confident, pretty, and satisfied with myself if I'm wearing nude lipstick shades, bronze and brown shades with some matching lipgloss.  On occasion, a pale rose pink, but I don't like the hot pink lip look.  It's just not my style.
The dramatic cat eyeliner look?  I also don't like.  It's too dramatic for me.  I don't want my eyeliner to be center stage, I want my eyecolor to be the main focus.  That's why I always do dark brown (regular) eyeliner and tons of mascara.  :)  Now that's me.

This might surprise a lot of girls out there, but I don't like wearing heels.  Never have, probably never will.
I'm 5'9" and prefer wearing flats (or being barefoot) every single day.  For school dances, church services, special parties, concerts, and events in general, I'm wearing me some mighty fine ballet flats.  I'm more confident if I can walk at my regular pace, and feel grounded.  That's my firm foundation.  ;)
Are there any popular trends that you don't follow?

Different Foundation Uses

I am currently switching between 2 foundations every other day.  For the days that 'matter,' I wear my Makeup Forever HD Foundation in #117.  For the days that 'don't matter' & I want to give my skin a rest, (my skin is very pale, sensitive, and acne-prone), I wear my Neutrogena SkinClearing Foundation.  I have found this to be very helpful for my face and for time's sake.  Do you switch your foundation routines depending on events?

The Ultimate "Outfit Chart"

Before I saw any blogs about doing an Outfit Chart, I came up with this (UGLY) outfit calendar.  It is sooo difficult for me to decide what I'm going to wear each day, and go through all of my clothing and jewelry options that I have.  So I spent a weekend putting all of my clothes, jewelry, bags, and hairstyles together and a couple hours writing this outfit calendar.  WASN'T I DUMB!!
I saw some blog posts about a cute WEEKLY outfit chart that you can use over and over again, and it's so much simpler, cuter, funner, and easier to use!  That ugly chart was before.  Here's the simple chart after.
Ta Da!  Doesn't it look so fresh and not chaotic?  I feel really proud I made this in less than an hour, and I have my outfits charted to go through, (like a conveyor belt).  I currently have 5 months planned- rotating my outfits around so that I can use what I have to the fullest.  I'm grateful!  :)

Layering Mascara: Good or Bad?

I have been layering my mascara for years and nothing bad has ever happened to my eyelashes because of it. However, even though some of my friends think its a genius idea, others think it's an absolute no-no because layering different kinds of "tar" on your eyelashes is unhealthy and will cause breakage.  I've never experienced this, abnormally, but I want to know your opinion.

Have you ever tried putting on different kinds of mascara to get a very full effect?
Have you had any bad experiences with certain mascara-combos?
Post in the comments below!  I love all kinds of beauty-advice!
